The quality of the products in this store was equally matched with the exceptional staff which tailored my day into a journey around the beautiful areas of Haarlem that wouldn’t be possible without them If there was more than 5 starts I would give it The two drifters that walked in on the 16th October 2025

They're the best coffeeshop in the area. All the staff are attentive, patient, and always recommend great products. The blonde girl is a sweetheart; I love talking to her. My only complaint is that smoking is no longer allowed inside. I understand it's the owners' rule, but I think it was wonderful to be able to sit there, have a coffee, and enjoy what you've bought. Plus, the atmosphere is always great. Don't hesitate to go and try it; you won't regret it. Greetings to all the staff, and thank you for treating us with so much love ❤️

Ugh, i hate to edit this review since i enjoyed this shop for so long, but i really should, because things have changed a lot more than expected since the initial rebrand & not in the right direction, so my old review no longer applies.. Quality has been going down while prices have been going up.. I'm honestly thinking about changing to a different coffeeshop. Wich is a real shame as i loved visiting this place for almost 10 years... A few months after the rebrand to "The Greengrocers" they have become part of a franchise ("Amsterdam Genetics", while keeping the "Greengrocers" name) and since then: - The quality of the weed has gone down (several times now since the latest changes i've received deep dark green/near black stuff, like it's bordering on rotting & i can taste the difference... on top of that even though they sell the same stuff its all listed with lower THC values now??) - There are more/bigger branches in my purchases, i certainly don't expect them to remove all of those (no shop does) but its noticeable that i end up with much more "not smokable stuff" than i did a year ago. Effectively raising the price covertly. - The prices have gone up in general (per gram but also less discount for getting 5 grams) while i really don't see why (my best guess is the 'parent company' wants a cut, which would make sense but doesn't mean i'm happy about it) - They no longer have any seating and have lost any sense of identity they had, its looks cold and sterile and meh. Im sure some people like this but i'm not one of them, especially when there are already several shops of this franchise looking the exact same. 3 out of 5 stars, "with pain in my hearth" & honestly a bit surprised at how they 'fell' in only a few months... It seems like it has become a bit of a tourist trap now... Considering what i said at the end of my initial review, its "lesser times" now instead of "higher times".. ☹️ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 5 star review from a few months ago: - - - Been coming to this shop for a few years, always happy with my purchases & the friendly staff. They rebuilt the interior and started a new menu about a month ago and i have had zero complaints, looks nice and while the menu is fairly different it's still great. In the last few weeks since the interior change they've: - Started expanding the new menu - Switched from pre-weighed (which was always fine) to weighing it in front of you (which i guess most people prefer) - Started "teasing" a name & logo change Overall still possibly the best shop in Haarlem, highly recommended, wondering if the new name will be "higher times" 👍
